Follow me on Twitter!: twitter.com Terrence Williams highlights from his rookie season in the NBA. Terrence Deshon Williams (born June 28, 1987 in Seattle, Washington) is an American basketball player who was drafted 11th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. He was the senior co-captain for Rick Pitino’s 2008-09 University of Louisville Cardinals. He is a 6-foot-6 forward hailing from Seattle, Washington. Terrence has a son named Jeray Williams by his high school girlfriend Jazmyne Jackson. During the 2007-08 season, Williams achieved the third and fourth triple-doubles in Louisville basketball history (the first two by Samaki Walker and Ellis Myles). He racked up 14 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in the Cardinals’ season-opening 104-69 win over Hartford[1] and had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in a January 19, 2008 loss to Seton Hall.[2] At Rainier Beach High School, Williams was a four-year starter on the basketball team. He helped the team to a state title in 2003. He averaged 21.7 points his senior year. He was also a starting wide receiver and free safety on the football team. He considered attending Indiana and Kansas before deciding to play for Pitino. Williams appeared on three straight Sports Illustrated covers [4] and is one of few athletes to do so. He was also a finalist in the Lowe’s Senior Class Award[5] and was named to the Lowe’s Senior Class All-Senior All-America first team.[6] Williams

Vince Carter is one of the worst defensive players I have ever seen. They will not come close to a championship. And Jason Kidd is the leader of that team.

  3. Saber says:

50 + win season, 2nd round of the playoffs. The min that is expected from this team, otherwise, I will be disappointed, since I am a Nets fan.

  4. flyin high says:

The franchise was established in 1967 as part of the American Basketball Association, with trucking magnate Arthur Brown as the owner. The team was originally known as the New York Americans, and Brown intended for it to play at the 69th Regiment Armory on Manhattan’s east side, but pressure from the New York Knicks forced the Armory to back out three months before opening day.[1]

Brown found it difficult to find a suitable venue in New York City. Some were booked solid, and others had owners who didn’t want to anger the Knicks by opening their doors to a rival team. Scrambling for a venue, the team settled on the Armory in Teaneck, New Jersey, and changed its squad name to the New Jersey Americans, though its franchise name remained the New York Americans.[1]

The Americans did fairly well in their first season, tying the Kentucky Colonels for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Division. However, the Armory was booked, forcing the Americans to scramble for a last-minute replacement.
