Minnesota Timberwolves Reader Q&A

Question by matthewfein: Are the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Timberwolves both owned by the same group?
Are the Twins and Timberwolves both owned by the same group/company? I was just wondering, since ‘Target’ has the naming rights to boths arenas.

Answer by Adam
Jim Pohlad (born 1953)[1] is the owner of the Minnesota Twins of the American League. Upon the death of his father, Carl Pohlad, on January 5th, 2009, he inherited ownership of the Twins franchise.

On March 23, 1995, Glen Taylor closed the deal that made him majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves

So the answer is no.
The reason they are both named after Target is because the World headquarters of the retail giant Target is only a few blocks from both stadiums.

Answer by Simba
Adam is correct. No they are not.

it all depends on 4 players:

jonny flynn: he has to show up and make it work with 2 starting power forwards in the line up with beasely and love. its up to him to develop the chemistry while developing his own game 2 mesh with the team as well.

kevin love: will kahn actually play this double double machine?. its up to him to fill the hole that jefferson left behind and will need to step up his scoring game and his defense downlow to be taken seriously…in terms of rebounding he just has to keep doing what hes doing

Micheal beasely: this is the grand question will he continue to be surrounded by off court issues of drugs and depression or will he focus on this upcoming season and exploit all of that untapped potential. hes the biggest piece to this team if he does and love and flyn give him some help on the offensive end, then minnesota can be a formidable opponent

ricky rubio: if this guy comes i change my vote on flynn to valuable trade bait. if he comes and beasely and love get it together there up for a serious run

but as of next season this team will miss the playoffs though. but with alot of young talent on their team ask this question again in three years
