Super Bowl Betting

It is now time for you to get read to bet on Super Bowl 2015. In my previous post of playoff predictions, I was able to correctly identify the two teams playing in the Super Bowl. This is not a great accomplishment since these two teams were the favorites to make it from both sides anyways.

Let’s take a look at the match up and get you some updated odds:

Seattle had one of the best playoff comebacks of all time during the Conference Championship. They were down 16-0 at halftime and 19-7 late in the forth quarter. Green Bay had just intercepted the ball and looked to be on their way to the Super Bowl. Seattle held Green Bay to a couple of 3 and outs and scored TDs twice in the last 2 and a half minutes, including one after recovering an onside kick which would have sealed the game for Green Bay. The Packers were able to force overtime, but Seattle won the coin toss and went straight down the field for the game winning TD.

New England had an easier path to the Super Bowl, but a more controversial one with the Deflategate scandal. Somehow, 11 of the 12 game balls that the Pats got on offense were under inflated. None of this mattered in the scheme of the game, as the Colts got destroyed 45-7. But, the stigma of Spygate is still fresh in the minds of many people and New England’s reputation has taken a hit.

That being said, New England is still a 2 point favorite over Seattle to win the Super Bowl. This has risen from a pick’em game earlier in the week. Here is the complete line:

New England: -2 (-105) Ov 47.5
Seattle: +2 (-115) Un 47.5

New England was my pick to win the Super Bowl from the previous post and I’m sticking with it. Even at -2, I still have the Pats winning. The predicted score is going to be 31-17.

I said before that the Patriots have the type of offense that can carve up even the most talented defense. They will do so not in large chunks of yardage, but in small 3 to 4 yard chunks every play. If Seattle’s offense was anywhere near as bad as they were against Green Bay, they will be in a large hole early in the game that they won’t be able to recover from.
